Week 26: Infectious Diseases

Infectious diseases are among the most common causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, particularly in developing and poverty-stricken nations. This week I learned important things about dealing with these diseases—how to diagnose and ultimately manage them. In the process, I gained a new-found appreciation for the infectious disease specialty. It takes courage to face patients whose cough can potentially kill you.
