Week 31, 2012: Emergency Medicine
EARLY MORNING mini-endorsements greet us every day. Lennie and Casti are busy updating the monitoring sheet, while Migz looks on.
My duty partner Jegar and neurology clerk Joseph Brazal.
For the past week, we only had one 24-hour shift when we were able to sleep for at least three hours, a luxury by E.D. standards. Jegar looks ecstatic. Note the absence of wheelchairs or stretchers.
Hey, Sir Simon Bunyi! (In PGH, we call everyone Sir or Ma'am, regardless of rank or designation.)
Ma'am Jordan. No kidding, that's her first name.
I'm with Ma'am Abi Sim-Alcedo, notorious for attracting last minute rush of patients during her shift, just before the break of dawn.
