Week 21, 2012: There and back again
Spent the entire afternoon in downtown Cagayan de Oro City. Just months after the Sendong catastrophe, everything already seemed back to normal. Too bad my classmates Hazel Baconga and Yeyen Waga weren't there to show me around.
I saw an art exhibit at Limketkai Mall. The "paintings" are actually paper cut-outs, similar to overlapping stencils. I forgot to take down the artist's name, but he did an impressive job.
I spent one whole day in Davao City. My brother and I had lunch at Hukad, a quiet restaurant located at 2/F, Abreeza Ayala Mall. We had bagnet and seafood—both were good. The waiters were warm and fast. For dinner, we went to Wings and Dips at Gaisano Mall; this time, old childhood friend Nonoy Jamison tagged along. We headed to Cafe Demitasse along F. Torres Street for dessert. I had pecan pie and hot berry tea—heavenly. I spent the night at Sean's apartment. Sean, too, had grown a bigger belly, though I still looked fatter. The next day I took the early morning bus bound for Koronadal.
My parents were happy to have me back.
Even David, the stupidest, sweetest dog on earth, missed me.
He was like a lamb about to be slaughtered.
Look here, Dave!
