A weekend well-spent
The past three days have been the first extended weekend I've had in a long time. I feel liberated; suddenly I had 24 extra hours to do other stuff, oversleeping not being one of them, although I had the option.
1. I busied myself editing The Torch, my church youth group's quarterly publication. By God's grace, it's almost done. I'm still waiting for Kuya Lito, our youth pastor, to give me the go-signal for printing.
2. I began planning for an event Agape UP Manila is hosting this coming Saturday, one that will gather Christian fellowships from other med schools in NCR. I was assigned to organize the program. There will be singing, prayer, and sharing what the Lord has done. Please lift us up in prayer, that God would cause this event to encourage and strengthen others in faith through His Word.
3. I edited and compiled a chapter for a research proposal.
4. I watched three movies, all of them I enjoyed: The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) directed by Wes Anderson, Les Quatre Cents Coups (The 400 Blows, 1959) by François Truffaut and Coco Avant Chanel (2009), featuring Audrey Tatou.
5. I also streamed episodes of The Nanny in Youtube. The quality isn't excellent, but you won't miss Fran's lovable nasal tone. Here's the pilot episode, and you can take it from there. I was in grade school when Hallmark Channel began airing this, and I remember my mother laughing so hard while watching. Now I finally get the humor.
6. I began packing my stuff—mostly books and med-related stuff—into three boxes. I'm moving out, haven't I told you that? My father's coming over to support my brother for the bar, so while he's here, I'll ask him to help me out in my transfer.
7. I went to my Patrick Abarquez's charming home in Paco, Manila for his birthday celebration. His family was warm, his mother beautiful, and the salad delicious. Sharmie Quezon couldn't stop taking pictures; it was so homey and provincial, like a capsule insulated from Manila's pollution.
8. Finally I read six chapters of a book to prepare for an exam tomorrow. I may have to read them again because I can't remember a thing anymore!
And as I'm cramming all these information, I comfort myself with that fact that a weekend well-enjoyed is a weekend well-spent.
How did yours go?
